Construction Foreman/ Skilled Laborer

Grove Construction is currently seeking an experienced, skilled foreman/laborer to add to our team!  We are looking to fill a full-time position with a competent individual who will manage and coordinate field operations for commercial projects from inception through completion.

Must be a self-directed and motivated leader with previous commercial construction experience, efficient communication skills and general understanding of email and computer programs; able to interpret construction plans, lead and direct crews, ensure safety compliance, and maintain professionalism with clients and subcontractors. In addition to supervising field operations, the candidate should be a diversely skilled laborer who can efficiently execute tasks including but not limited to: installing cabinets, countertops, doors, rebar, concrete, and concrete finishing.

JOB TYPE: Full Time – Normal work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, with possibilities of some evening/weekend hours.

LOCATION: Columbia, Missouri


  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction experience with previous supervisory responsibilities
  • Vocational training in carpentry and OSHA Certification preferred
  • High School Diploma required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to lift minimum of seventy-five (75) pounds
  • Pre-employment drug screen required

Assistant Project Manager / Field Superintendent

This position is for an on-site construction Assistant Project Manager / Field Superintendent. This position will require the ability to maintain project schedules, cost control, quality and safety standards of assigned projects within the central Missouri area. To provide daily direction and enforcement of company procedures to subcontractors, vendors, and labor forces. Maintain positive relations with owners, subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Assist Project Manager in project start up.
  • Assist in the development and schedule work assignments for required subcontractors and vendors on a daily and weekly basis to meet the contracted project schedule.
  • Inspect work in progress to assure quality and contract compliance. Immediately correct any deficiencies discovered.
  • Communicate with Project Manager daily of any schedule delays, labor cost overruns, subcontractor issues or other project problems.
  • Maintain daily job reports. Submit copies bi-weekly to Project Manager.
  • Attend project progress meetings. Be prepared to provide input on schedule and current project issues.
  • Personally comply with and enforce safety and project housekeeping requirements.
  • Maintain clean, orderly, and well-organized field office standards.
  • At the direction of the Project Manager, procure job-related materials, equipment or other services.
  • Maintain “as-built” drawings for permanent record.
  • Assist Project Manager, when requested, to develop quantity take-offs/cost estimates for change orders.
  • Verify receipt of material/equipment deliveries. Submit delivery tickets to main office weekly.
  • Maintain and build relationships with coworkers and share knowledge and techniques to further assist with all projects.
  • Complete all field-related project close out requirements within project schedule.
