As the parents of five children, Jason and Liz McClary know a thing or two about how to keep kids entertained.

On Monday, the couple and their business partner, Richard DeStefane, opened Tiger Bounce, an indoor play area with seven inflatable bounce houses. Jason McClary does a lot of work out of St. Louis and said on business trips to the city, he took his kids to similar businesses there to keep them entertained. This inspired him to start something similar in Columbia.

As he was planning the specifics of Tiger Bounce, McClary showed his children and their friends the different inflatable structures he was considering getting for the space.

He used their input to gauge how fun kids might find each option.

He wants them to be different enough that kids will stay entertained while at Tiger Bounce and said he wants to swap out the structures every six months or so.

Among the bounce houses are one with a maze, one with a tiger, for the business’s namesake, and one that only children younger than 3 years old can play in.

“I think we lost count of how many kids would come up to the glass and stare in” before Tiger Bounce opened, McClary said.

“I gave quite a few tours of the place before we even opened up.”
